Chapter 1: Comatose
Sunday, November 22, 2009

Its a rainy day, just like the day i said good-bye to him.
And i never thought i'd be in such a mess right after that.
Sounds of people shouting and screaming was hurting my eardrums and that sound, which sounded like the sirens of ambulance and police cars were too deafening that i couldn't hear anymore and i blacked out right after.

When i opened my eyes the next, what i saw was a total white.
And then someone said something but i couldn't make it out. A man came into my sight even though it was hazy and bright, it looked so surreal almost like he was from a painting.
"How beautiful!" was what i thought and i lost conciousness with the glimpse of him.

I don't know how long i slept. When i woke up, i was already feeling well and my eye sight came back.
"Oh, you're up? Miss Miya." a nurse in a total white uniform greeted me.
I looked at her nametag. April Jun.
"I'm April. Can you remember what happened to you?" she asked looking a little worried.
"I... was...? I got caught in an accident? Did i?", my memory was unclear most probab;y because i suffered concussion due to a shock on my back of the head.
"That's quite right. Don't push yourself if you can't remember anything. You have been in a coma for about a month even though you woke up from time to time and got back into it." nurse April told me, though it didn't sound good to me.
"Thank you. May i know when i'll get discharged?" i asked politely and gave her a faint smile.
"I'm not sure. Maybe you can talk to the doctor, he's on the way. If you need anything, you can call me anytime.", nurse April left with that said.

It was quiet and all i could hear was only sounds of the air-conditioning that was blowing, and my own breathing. It didn't feel good lying, so i sat up and saw the newspaper by the bed-side drawer. The headlines was something about a company falling to another company's acquisition and just when i was flipping the newspaper, someone came into the room.

"How are you feeling, Ms Miya? I'm your doctor-in-charge, Vincent." he greeted me with a warm smile.
"Thank you , doctor. I'm feeling quite well." i haven't able to continue to say anything as he cut me off.
"I heard from April that you want to know hen you could be discharged? I'm sorry to say that it won't be anytime soon as you just woke up from a months' coma, so you are required to stay for about 3 or 4 days more the least." the doctor shot off his mouth like a machine gun.
"Oh... May i know how is my body condition since the accident happened?" i questioned him without thinking.
"That's of no problem. We've already done our best for you and you're definitely in tip-top condition now that you're awake. But still, please take care. We will do what we can to make you feel better." the doctor smiled.
"T-Thank you very much." and i smiled.

The doctor left after doing some examinations and his report. I sat on the bed and started monitoring my surroundings.
I saw the clock, it was 4.17PM. I wondered the date and looked from the newspaper. May 1st 2009, Friday. So, it's been quite awhile since the good-bye, huh... I didn't want to think about it and examined the room. It was rather empty, only with a sofa and a coffee-table. The toilet is across the room to the left and the door to the corridor was just a little further to the next wall.

I was bored, so i wanted to get out but first i need to wash my face and i got out of the room. I didn't know my way but still managed to walk to the garden and sat there enjoying the breeze even though it's May. A man came by and sat beside me. I din't care and just sat quietly. He wasn't a patient here, must be someone who came to visit.
"Are you feeling better?" the man beside me suddenly spoke.
I was thinking who he was peaking to, so i looked around but there was no one else around near.
"Pardon me, are you speaking to me?" i looked at him.
"Yes, lady. I am." he replied.
"Thank you, i'm feeling quite well." i answered and looked at him once more. I felt deja vu but i couldn't remember where i've seen him.
"Good, i'm leaving. Take care." he threw these words at me and left.
That man left me wondered who he was and where have i seen him? I couldn't remember a thing. But man, he was quite a charmer even though he spoke a little coldly.

"So here you are, Miss Miya. Enjoying the breeze here, are you?" a voice called out to me.
"Oh... Nurse April. I'm bored inside, so i came out." i laughed.
"You should have notified us. The nurses were worried when you weren't in your room." she sounded shaky.
"I'm sorry, i will go back now. Thank you." i answered feeling kinda guilty.
Back into the room, i felt tired and went to sleep.
